Osteopathy is a system of complementary medicine involving the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation, manual readjustments and myofascial release of bones of the skeleton and musculature. Osteopathic treatment allows the body to function as a unit.

Your body language can determine the health of your joints and muscles, as well as your mental health.

What happens at your visit?

1) WHAT WILL HAPPEN?…

– During your first visit, which will be your initial consultation, the osteopath will ask about your pain and any medical history related.

2) WHAT DO I WEAR?…

-Do try to expose the site of pain so bring with you shorts and/or loose fitting clothing. An assessment will take place observing the site of pain as well as other joints. Special orthopaedic tests may also be done to ensure a proper diagnosis is reached using our knowledge of anatomy, physiology.

3) WILL I RECEIVE TREATMENT ON MY FIRST SESSION?…

-Our aim is first to clarify you are safe to treat, then to reduce your pain and to limit reoccurring injuries. Treatement is giben at consultation once safe to treat and you are happy for treatment to go ahead.

4) HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?…

– A full explanation will be given to you and a plan of treatments explained to you. Each patient is treated as an individual, therefore number of treatments varies according to the injury.

5) DOES TREATMENT HURT? …

– Osteopathic treatments can be uncomfortable especially if you are already in pain but it should not be unbearable. There is a possibility of a treatment reaction which just simply means you may feel slightly sore after the session but this tends to disappear within 24-48hrs. The majority of our patients have instant relief after treatment but be aware that everyone differs.

6) WHAT DO YOU TREAT? ….

Although the majority of our patients come to us with back, neck and other joint problems, We treat and can help relieve and/or eradicate other various acute and chronic disorders. We also help with nerve and muscle related problems.
